Each morning, as early as 2:00 A.M., these women travel from Mexicali to the Calexico Port of Entry. They wait to board work buses that transport them as far as 75 miles north for their work in the cantaloupe fields of the Imperial Valley. Women comprise about 21% of the farm worker labor force.

Cada día, a más tardar a las 2:00 a.m., estas mujeres viajan desde Mexicali al puerto de entrada a Calexico. Esperan para abordar los autobuses que las transportarán casi 75 millas al norte para trabajar en los campos de melón del Valle Imperial. Las mujeres componen el 20% de la fuerza laboral campesina.
